Understanding Neck Pain and Posture.

Why you in pain?

The weight of an "average" head is 10 pounds. There are 18 muscles and 25 ligaments in the neck. 

Now, imagine 10 lb "handing off " your neck whilst you are are sitting or standing, at home or at work and looking down at a screen: laptop, phone, ipad or TV.

This puts an unnatural strain on the muscles of your neck and shoulders which can lead to stiffness and poor posture.

And don't even start me on poor posture ! Posture topic is most important topic of all...in my and all medical world opinion.

By not be able understand therefore not stand -sit-move correctly we put a tremendous strain on our body: muscles, ligaments, joints and even internal organs!

Bad posture and all above combining with stress, heavy lifting or exercise can leave you in constant pain that goes on to cause other problems:

  • headaches
  • jaw pain
  • insomnia
  • lower back problems
  • Muscle tightness and spasms.
  • lack of mobility in the neck

What do you need to do is..

  1. Re-align your body and re set your posture
  2. Create a new habit to stand and move with grace and good posture
  3. Make a new well being habits: 

Why you need neck and shoulders massage?

Because neck and shoulder massage will:

  • eliminate the tension around the neck
  • release the spasms from the shoulder muscles
  • help with pinched nerve pain relief
  • improve blood circulation to the head/brain
  • encourage relaxation
